A Place We Call Home: Nurturing Leadership for Community Change – Marsha Timpson
Rainbow Presentation - Footsteps: Shayera (powerpoint - this is a large file)
Youth and adult partnerships, which are central to our work, have proven to be important in the revitalization of our communities. As youth and adults, alike, gain a greater appreciation for the assets and values our places possess, immediate efforts occur to reinvigorate our local economies, schools, and civil society. In the long-term, we have seen young people remain or return to contribute to the place that raised them. View a presentation from Marsha Timpson on one such individual.
Open Space Sessions
Mentoring as a Form of Leadership Development - Ken Williams
MentoringNextGeneration.pdf
Above is an electronic copy of the resource guide on mentoring the AED Center for Leadership Development recently published. I hope you will read it and share it with your networks so that we can foster mentoring and "learning partnerships" in a broad and systematic way. You are welcome to reproduce and distribute this piece at no charge, though we would appreciate acknowledgement of the source of the work.

Learning Circle Sessions
Change Agents in the American South (CAAS)
CAAS led a session based on our work so far. Our session titled An Ode to Tanto and Robin: Buckets of Possibility or Change Agents in the American South: Understanding Leadership Dynamics in the Contest of Race, Place and Generation shared lessons learned from the CAAS Learning Circle journey in three southern communities engaging multi-generational leaders of color in dialogues regarding their leadership experiences—exploring identity, barriers, and supports in addition to leading attendees through a participatory experience that reflected the work of the project. Notes from the session are available here.
